Negative Adverbs That Start With R
An adverb is a part of speech that provides additional information. It might tell us how quickly someone ran, or how a fabric was beautifully patterned.
Usually an adverb will end in “ly”, but that is not always the case. Adverbs give more info about adjectives, verbs, also known as action words, and other adverbs.
Let’s look at a couple of great negative R adverbs to know, rowdily, and restlessly.
I am the mother of three boys, and when they were younger, they played very physically. Wrestling each other was a regular occurrence. You could say that my sons played rowdily.
The adverb, restlessly, like rowdily, also ends in the typical “ly”. Restlessly means that someone is doing things that show they can’t relax and be calm.
People are often restless when they have something stressful on their mind. If we are awaiting news that might be bad we may act restlessly until we get the news.
This could be the case when you are waiting at the airport for a flight to land when the weather is bad.
You might restlessly pace around the arrivals area, drink two or three coffees, and check your phone for messages umpteen times!

Negative Words That Start With R To Describe A Person
It can be super frustrating to know what you want to say about someone, but not have the words at hand that you need to describe them accurately.
You might be having a casual conversation with your bestie about your new coworker, or be writing a paper on a famous historical person and you simply can’t find the right words to describe them.
You aren’t communicating effectively if you don’t have the right words. Why not add a few more negative R words to your vocabulary that can help you describe that person just the way you want to.
Rebarbative might be the perfect word to describe that new coworker. Do you find them irritating and unpleasant?
If they are really getting on your nerves, and every time you see them coming you want to go in the other direction, then rebarbative might suit them.
Retrogressive is another handy word to know. Unlike the word, progressive, which reflects moving forward in a positive way, retrogressive means returning to something the way it was before, and it was not a positive state.
In your personal life, maybe going back to a former partner has not been a good idea. You have been retrogressive.

Negative Feelings And Emotions Starting With R
Sometimes we feel a sense of negativity. We want to shake off that negative emotion, but it can be tough.
When we can give a word to the feelings we are having, it can help us to deal with them, and then allow us to move on in a more positive frame of mind.
If someone has been getting on our nerves, it may be that we are feeling reproachful toward them.
This means that we have been letting them know that we aren’t happy with them. If it’s at work, maybe a colleague hasn’t been producing the kind of work you think they should and you have made disapproving remarks.
It might be that the fact that you have been expressing disappointment and disapproval with them could be bothering you. After all, is it really your place to pass judgment?
Once you have identified the reason you’re feeling negative, you can ditch that reproachful attitude and focus on making the workplace more positive.
You’ll feel better for it.

Negative Communication Words Not To Use That Begin With R
Sometimes our words can do more harm than good, and it would really be best to avoid certain words in communication all together.
Recrimination is such a word. Recrimination is when we start hurling accusations at someone who has hurled an accusation at us.
This is a childish way to communicate. When we respond to an insult by insulting back, we are lowering ourselves to that person’s level, and allowing ourselves to get sucked into playing their game.
Resist this temptation, and take the high road. Shut down that communication, and don’t get involved in the mud slinging. Recrimination is not the way to go.

Depressed Words That Start With R
Depression is a phenomena that plagues many people in our stressful world full of unrealistic expectations set up by social media.
If you can recognize the source of your depression, then you can begin to take steps to address it.
Talking to someone is key, and being able to put a word to your feelings is important.
Remorse can be a powerful emotion. It’s when we feel badly for something we have done or said.
We sometimes say things or do things when we are angry, stressed out, or upset, and we really don’t mean those things.
Instead of wallowing in remorse, make a plan to address the cause of your remorseful feelings, and then put it into action.
Once you have done that, you should be able to move on.

Halloween Words That Start With R
Halloween is a favorite of young and old alike. Children love to put on a costume, and go trick or treating. A lot of adults also get a charge out of dressing up and going to a Halloween party!
The letter R gives us the word, redrum, murder spelled backwards. The word is actually a palindrome, and in the classic scary movie, The Shining, “redrum” is read backwards in the mirror, revealing that there will be a murder.
R is also the first letter of the word, revenant. A revenant is a person who has come back from the dead.
